The Beatles: A tribute to a historical night

Over 50 years ago one of the most legendary bands graced the United States with their presence from London. Four teenagers with their suits and hair grew into stardom quick and were heard around the world.

The girls went nuts for the boy band from Liverpool. The seven-time Grammy Award-winning band of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr were quickly making musical history. They were climbing the Billboard charts and gaining exposure on talk shows.

Over the years there have been many covers of their songs and even a movie, “Across the Universe,” which used their music to tell a love story. The Beatles had their own movies as well; “Yellow Submarine,” “A Hard Day’s Night,” “Let It Be” and “Help.”

Their dynasty continued even after the loss of John Lennon and George Harrison. Their music will always be influential and will be around for generations to come. The Beatles also had their very own version of Rock Band a few years ago and Cirque du Solei had a special show in Las Vegas based on the Beatles hit “Love.”

They are one of the most renowned music groups around the world. They had such an impact on people’s lives and had such a way of conveying their thoughts in their music. They will forever be a historical part of the music scene in America.

On Sunday Feb. 9, Paul and Ringo are coming together to make history again. For the first time in almost 40 years they are going to be collaborating together in a TV premiere, “A Grammy Tribute.” Collaborating with other musical artists, they are commemorating the first time that the Beatles appeared on the “Ed Sullivan Show.” The tribute will air at the exact time, date and stage where the Beatles first played.
