Finding, researching, and evaluating mainstream media

People may have many questions that pass their mind, but are left unanswered. Growing up,

you may develop these kinds of questions such as, “why are we always in debt,” “why does this exist,”

and so on.

While mindlessly wandering the Internet you may come across sites that give you factual

information, such as the daily News, or some stream of video which can educate you about the

economy. The only sad thing is, how much of this information is actually legitimate?

While experiencing the rein of president Obama, Bush and other troublesome politicians, you

tend to wonder more about the society of today. Where can you find information, which isn’t on

mainstream media, but can be accredited as “good information”; real information, which isn’t garbage

the government tries to feed you. The trick is you have to find it on your own.

Peter Joseph, a fearless social activist and independent filmmaker may have solved many

peoples’ questions. Or maybe brought up many more –but through a series of documentaries he made.

He discussed things which aren’t usually discussed in the mainstream media, but yet lingers in the back

of peoples’ minds. The first documentary he made, which is one of three that are free online, is called

“Zeitgeist: The Movie.” This film discusses peoples’ confusion about religion, the money system and 9/

11, whereas his other films discuss more unanswered questions that people may be looking for.

But while watching this film, you tend to question what is being told; whether it’s true or not.

The importance of media is that you never know if something is feeding you lies, or facts; whether

if politicians are telling the truth, whether Life Alert actually works, you just don’t know unless you

do your own research. We all can kind of relate to this –but have we done research to actually prove

whether the media we’re watching is actually true or not? Peter Joseph’s films are great to watch

whether you want your questions answer, curious about what he has to say, or you just want to debunk

what he has to prove.

He is an intelligent man, who didn’t mean for the film to even become popular, he was just a

man that wanted to compose a film that answered questions that he had, and yet still lingers in the

society we have today.

If you’re looking for a mind-blowing documentary, you should refer to the Zeitgeist trilogy.
