The Admissions office, where students can make appointments with counselors

One of the essential parts of any student’s journey is deciding on their major. Most students we spoke to have an idea of what they wish to pursue, but for those undeclared or on the fence between majors, the college offers a variety of ways to help them make that decision.

Skyline College offers meta majors, which is an easy way to search for and find the major that’s right for you. While this can be overwhelming, Skyline College’s academic counselors are here to help support and guide you through your college career.

Building 19 also offers an assessment test that gives students results of possible careers and majors to match their interests.

First-year student Nishia Manag and second-year Jonah Aguilar have opted to pursue transfer certificates and transfer to a 4-year college, as do many others.

Along with meeting with an academic counselor, there is also Skyline’s Transfer Center, which helps make the transfer process easy and smooth. Outside resources, like Assist.org, also offer in-depth information about requirements for transferring.

In addition to your major, developing and having a Student Educational Plan (SEP) is fundamental to reaching your educational goals. The college’s academic counselors can also assist students with creating one.
