40 years ago an institute was established as part of the San Mateo County Community College District. This was done in hopes of providing the public with an excellent college open for the sole purpose of helping everyday students achieve their individual ideals of success and good fortune. This fine institute would come to be known as Skyline Community College
We here at The Skyline View are grateful for the fact that we have the opportunity to pursue our academic goals within the heart of this great institute – let alone have the resources and the ability to publish a student newspaper in a time when print media is struggling – which is why we are ecstatic about celebrating its 40 years of existence.
It’s important to be active on campus, if not for you then your image. Other colleges hate “PCP students” (parking lot, class, parking lot – students who take no interest in their campus beyond the time it takes to walk to class). And what better way of being an active Skyline student then participating in its 40 year celebration?
Such a social event is sure to be as exciting and interesting as it will be a great networking experience. Not to mention the fact that this kind of opportunity doesn’t present itself every day. One might say this could very well be an opportunity of a lifetime.
We love this campus and thank it for all its done for us in the time we’ve been here, and we’re sure the many others who have been fortunate enough to come through here on their road to success feel the same way.
The 40 good years that Skyline has helped others has not gone unnoticed. EOPS will without a doubt give it a proper celebration for all its good work. And if you’re a true Skyline brother or sister you would be crazy not to celebrate Skyline’s history during this memorable week.
Even if you’re not all that crazy about this school and are just interested in transferring on to another university, we recommend you check out the even anyway – if not for the historical significance then just for fun.
