Artist: The BeatlesSong: I Want You (She’s So Heavy)Sounds like: Classic Rock
The Beatles are a timeless classic rock band whose music will not be forgotten. Their music can make someone want to get up and dance or put them in a trance because the instruments and lyrics are that powerful. I Want You is a song that can be interpreted in many ways; one interpretation would be a nice subtle sexual song that a man is singing to his woman. Another way, which was actually seen in the movie Across the Universe, is the army telling a young man that they want him for war. Both ways show how talented and versatile The Beatle’s music is and how even today, their music still lives in the dance, movie, video game, and even restaurant world.-Courtney Chin
ARTIST: Nine Inch NailsSONG: Beside You in Time [5:24]SOUNDS LIKE: music with a pulseSomething about this song is simply wonderful to listen to. I don’t know if it’s the quiet lyrics, the literal pulse of the music, the rise and fall of the sounds or a combination of all this and more, but this is what can only be described as a masterful composition. It’s never too predictable but it’s not random either. Despite it being a comparatively long song, it shifts and evolves enough to keep you interested and listening – just enough to stop it from fading into the background, but not so much that it becomes overwhelming. Songs like this are few and far between and you really owe it to yourself to check it out. -Andrew Lidwell

With mind altering sound waves that progress with delicate wind instruments ASMZ’s voice-less rhymes will generate feelings of empathy and sorrow with a recurrence for perseverance. This one track will alter your perception. Enjoy!-Sofia Mas
Artist: Bob DylanSong [8:47]: HurricaneSounds Like: a lifelong lesson
Bob Dylan’s The Hurricane is a tragic story as told through his music. After a bar is shot up in the 60s, an innocent man is found guilty of the crime. Rubin Carter, a boxer known as The Hurricane, faced a lifetime in prison for a crime he didn’t commit. After learning of this ordeal, Bob Dylan wrote this song to help him earn his freedom. Though the song did spread awareness of the situation, it did not help Rubin earn his freedom. However, in 1988 Rubin was acquitted of all charges. Despite the real life issues, this is a great song with a poignant story to tell and an important lesson to be learned.-Joe Fogel
Kanye West interrupts Taylor Swift video:
This video was a resounding example of just how complicated and frail the human ego really is. Truth be told, I thought Kanye West had pulled a Derek Zoolander when I first saw him on the stage during Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech, but once I heard what he had to say, it became clear that Kanye West simply thinks his opinion matters more than ours. In the end he probably should have just pretended that he thought he’d won; it would have been much less humiliating for him in the long run.-Frank Romero
