The 2008-2009 season has been an amazing season for the Skyline Trojans Lady Basketball team, and it’s not over yet! Not only are they having one of the best seasons in school history, but they are one win away from going to the elite 8 for the California Community College Athletic Association. .”I’m really happy for what we accomplish” said Jonah Lu (#1), freshman for this years Lady Trojans. “We made Skyline history this year making it to the sweet 16.” This year started of a little rough for the lady Trojans. Along with playing some very tough teams, it was hard for them to play all together; this year has been crazy” said Brie Reddick, (#4) guard for the team. “We had a lot of ups and downs.” But as the year went on, their skills as a team soon got better to where they wanted it to be. “I feel very grateful and happy that not only are we in the playoffs, but because we are playing well as a team” said Jennifer Matawaran (#21), another guard for the Lady Trojans basketball team.
As we get ready for this weekend, the Lady Trojans are getting ready to play the #1 ranked City College of San Francisco Rams, who beat the Trojans in both meetings this past season. “Third time’s a charm”, said Katie and Laura Zasly, “since they beat us the 1st two times, we are really ready and motivated to win this game”. The lady Trojans have been doing everything, from watching videos all the way to playing former Trojan teammates, to help them get ready for this Saturday’s game.
To support the lady Trojans, come watch them this Saturday March 7th, 2009 as they face City College of San Francisco in San Francisco, CA (50 Phelan Ave, San Francisco, CA? 94112) at 5:30p.m.
