Dear Skyline View, I read your article “Scholarships to come to Skyline,” and I’m sorry, but only five students will only get $1,000 from scholarship money? I mean, come on; the state is going to receive $70 million. You can help more people than just five students.
Also, with that money, you can pay the two to three years in a community college. These scholarships are ridiculous. It’s just not enough in reality. Don’t get me wrong, this is great for our books and supplies and we’ll save much more money if we also apply for financial aid to avoid enrollment fees.
I can tell education is not really cared for in our system. More money should be given to all types of colleges like private, community, universities and CSU’s. Those who seek an education and do excellent should have a free ride to go to any college they want if education is such a major factor in this country.
It’s too bad the government is too caught up with issues they think are more important than our everyday, honest, hardworking citizens (honest money, not bad). Even before the economy went sour, they still didn’t even bother to actually help schools and pay for students’ college.
I’m sorry but I believe that this country should pay for students’ education in college because most kids my age are middle class citizens and our parents work really hard making only decent money.
It doesn’t make sense to pay $3,000-$40,000 in any type of school per semester. Some kids can’t afford that and they end up not going to State or Universities because they or their parents can’t afford it. Even if they get financial aid, it still wouldn’t cover the fees. I know people may think that my idea is unbelievable but I believe people should live out their dreams, and education is that boost and that step to get where we need to be.
