Believe it or not but it’s time to elect another fearless leader for the greatest country in the world. For some (most likely many) it could not have come soon enough after 8 years of perceived ineptitude by President Bush. For others it’s a chance to keep a Republican in the Oval Office. It also appears to for the first time in a long time that we have a legitimate Presidential race. It’s the elderly war hero against the young, charismatic up and comer. The two sides of the political spectrum could not be represented any better. Do you vote for John McCain/Sarah Palin or Barack Hussein Obama/Joe Biden? If you care about this country then the choice is easy. Keep Barack Hussein Obama out of the White House.
One word has been used more than any other word this electoral season and probably used more times than any other election. That word would be change. Obama has built his entire campaign around the word change. But is he really for change? His political history says no. One can only assume that he is just waiting for the big stage of the Oval Office to actually implement some change. He used the same platform when running for the Senate. He was elected to the Senate but never really changed anything. He never challenged the establishment. Not once. He appeared to be satisfied with the easy route as a protégé of Richard Daly.
If Obama is for change the why would he pick Joe Biden as his Vice President running mate? Biden is a career politician with many lobby groups who give him money in exchange for votes. Biden is a well established politician and that is exactly what is wrong with politics today and exactly what Obama supposedly stands against: A person who will not go against party lines, will vote for his lobby groups, and someone who does not want to change the way things are done.
On the other side of the coin you have John McCain and Sarah Palin. Ironically McCain and Palin have a proven track record of promoting change even if that means going against party lines and the normal politician behavior. Palin actually has less experience than Obama but has done so much more with her time as a politician. In just 2 years as Governor of Alaska she exposed the state GOP chair as being corrupt. She actually exposed someone in her own party and had them removed from office. Please don’t think for one minute that I’m na’ve enough to think that McCain does not have lobbyists in his back pocket also. However McCain has a proven documented history of voting against party lines for the sake of change. So much so that many conservatives do not view McCain as a conservative.
It appears that Obama and Biden have built their entire campaign around the word change. Not the actual act but just the word. Obama likes to talk about change and everything he wants to change once he is elected but for some reason can’t give many examples of things that he has changed already. Please forgive me if I don’t believe Obama. I’ve have heard this before.
On the other hand McCain and Palin don’t preach about change but actually implement changes. They don’t stand behind a podium or strut across stages, giving each other fist bumps and talk about how they are going to change the country. They actually have changed the country. John McCain and Sarah Palin are exactly what this country needs right now, a presidential campaign that is not scared to go against the status quo and not afraid to shake things up.
