Q: What is your history with the Skyline View?A: This is my second semester working for the view, and I have to say it’s pretty saucy. We have a great staff and we have a lot of fun working together. You learn the craziest things in the newsroom. I look forward to another semester on staff with new staffers to break in. Who knows maybe I’ll meet you on staff.
Q: Why did you decide to get into journalism?A: I started doing some part time work for a friend to get into E3. He gave me a camera and told me to interview people about their experiences at the convention. I really got into it and figured it was something I could see myself doing for life.
Q: What do you like writing about the most?A: I love video games, comics, and movies. Those are my three favorite things to do in my spare time so I hope I find a job writing, specifically for a magazine, about one or all of those things.
Q: What do you hope to accomplish when you move on from Skyline? A: After Skyline I look forward to more school. I have a few places in mind that I’d like to go but only time will tell. After that I hope to be in New York working for a magazine and/or writing comics.
Q: So you’re a gamer, right? How and when did you get into video games?A: I’ve been playing video games since the original Super Mario Bros. on the NES when I was five or six. I don’t remember how I got my NES but one of my earliest memories is staying home sick from school to play the side scrolling platform. Almost two decades later and I’m still stayin’ home sick to play video games.
Q: What would you say is your favorite game of all time and why?A: I wouldn’t be able to narrow down one game. I have my favorite series and even of those I would not be able to choose a single game from a series. I will however tell you my favorite series. Legend of Zelda, God of War, Final Fantasy Tactics, Kingdom Hearts, and Super Smash Bros. are my favorite series of all time and I will continue to buy any game with those titles.
Q: What kind of music are you into?A: I listen to anything. However, if I could only listen to one band for the rest of my days it would be Weezer, hands down.
Q: What else do you like to do with your free time?A: Aside from comics, video games, and movies you will usually find me partying with my friends. My house is a void. One plans on starting a night there and so many people end up comin thru we don’t usually leave.
Q: What would say your role is among your group of friends?A: I am usually the leader of my group. People always leave it up to me to find something to and if I can’t we usually get stuck in the void. I’ve also been told I’m the life of the party.
Q: If you were on a deserted island and could only have three belongings, what would they be?A: The only thing I would need is my comic collection. If anything I’d also want to have a trustee Wilson Ball, just so I could have some company.
Q: If you could be in any movie, what movie would it be and what part would you play?A: Easy. If I could play any cameo in any movie I’d be the guy on the elevator with Spiderman in Spiderman 2. Straight up.
Q: Let’s say you could spend a day with any person in history past or present. Who would it be and why?A: If I could go in the past I’d kick it with George Washington. I’m a bit of a history buff and man did that guy have an amazing life. Even way before becoming the first president he had plenty of adventures. If I got to chill with someone alive I’d have to pick Jack Nicholson, just because that man is crazy.
Q: Alright, let’s get serious. What is your greatest passion in life?A: Writing. Always has been and always will. In writing you can do anything, be anyone or go anywhere. It’s just too great for the soul.
Q: Who is your biggest role model, and why?A: This question stumps me. There are plenty of people I look up to, but none I would call a role model. I’ve always just gone with the flow of life and tried to stick by the morals I’ve created over time.
Q: It’s time to go. If we come looking for you in ten years, where will we find you?A: Hopefully in N.Y.C. writing comic books or working for Maxim.
