Just as was expected, Jimmy Eat World rocks another show.
The band co-heads with Paramore, but for what reason? Jimmy Eat World is a stand alone force.
From the minute they opened, kicking off with “Big Casino” from their newest CD Chase This Light they had the crowd’s full attention. With amazing lighting effects, the show only continued to get better.
The band did an awesome job of covering their best tracks from each album over a set list of about 19 songs. Covering popular singles such as “Pain,” “Sweetness,” “Always Be,” and of course, “The Middle” the group caught their mainstream fans. However when they played their cult hits such as “Get It Faster,” and “Kill” true, die hard fans went wild.
The band went out with “Pain,” their first single from Futures. This was a good finisher considering that new and old fans alike would be familiar with the song. Immediately after the song the group left the stage; however, the lights remained dim. This could only mean one thing…Encore.
The band returned on stage to a roaring audience. The group started up again and most recognized the song immediately, as it is one of their few slower paced hits. Lighters went in the air as the group sang the beautiful lyrics of “Hear You Me.”
For their grand finale the group went out with probably their most popular single, “The Middle.” This had the biggest fan reaction as most people would know and/or recognize this song with out even knowing they were listening to Jimmy Eat World. However, at a Jimmy Eat World concert, people know who they are listening to so everyone was singing the lyrics. The band left the stage and immediately after, the lights came up. This spectacle was now over.
