Nintendo’s first child is back spanning galaxies to save his Princess Peach and his first solo game on the Wii is a force to be reckoned with. For those long time gamers, this game takes the platform series to new levels reminiscent to what Super Mario did on the Super Nintendo. The controls are the best yet and if you played any of the Mario games from Nintendo 64 onward you should be able to familiarize yourself with them quickly and easily. The graphics really show what the Wii can do. The animation is smooth and fluent with the character designs only making it better. Not only do most enemies from the earlier Mario games reappear, but we also get some new enemies created for this game.Probably the best part of this game are the return of Mario’s multiple costumes which were left out of the last Mario game on the Gamecube. Galaxy includes the return of the fire Mario costumes as well as introduces a spring Mario costume and a bumblebee costume. As with all other Mario games, Galaxies is full of secrets. In fact, a special surprise awaits those perfectionist that master games, usually never getting anything in return but satisfaction. I’d tell you what it is, but where’s the fun in that. Let’s just say it’s definitely worth the wait. So if you have a Wii and are looking for a new game to get, Super Mario Galaxy is your answer. If you already have the game I recommend getting all 120 stars. In either case Galaxy is definitely a must have for the system.
