The Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society recognized new members at their spring induction ceremony on March 30 at Cañada College in Redwood City.
The ceremony at Cañada began with a welcome and opening remark by Candace Joy, president of the Cañada College chapter, Beta Zeta Nu and Skyline’s chapter president Nasim Naderseresht.
Professor of Political Science at Cañada, Dr. Lezlee Ware provided opening remarks and presented the new members.
The 39 new members will be a part of Skyline’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, Beta Theta Omicron, which is in its eighth year. Skyline’s chapter has become an internationally recognized chapter, ranked in the top 100 of more than 1,800 chapters worldwide.
In 2006, Beta Theta Omicron received its fourth Distinguished Chapter award as well as the Scholarship and Leadership Hallmark awards for the programs that were implemented during that year. The chapter awards can be seen in the Building five display case.
