It’s February, and the weather is getting warmer. Relationships either become stronger or weaker. This year Valentine’s Day could be a happy one or another annoying holiday you wished never existed. Normally people would hear advice on how to get a date this holiday or spend it with your significant other. Not this year, the advice nerd is all for being single and spending this holiday alone. So here are some things you need to know for spending the night by yourself.
Accept it
It’s Valentine’s Day. Some single people hate this holiday because of one fact: they don’t have a significant other. Well, it sucks but just accept it and enjoy the life of being single. You don’t have to worry about anybody but yourself! This day is about love and if you love yourself then celebrate this day for you. So don’t mope around and cry about it, get out there and enjoy life!
There are lots of things to do alone
You don’t need another person to do something fun. Grab your favorite spot in front of the tube and watch your favorite movie. If you are a geek like me, staying up all night with your favorite video game is a lot better. There’s no shame in splurging on material things this time of season. Buy everything you can afford and want. This is one of the days where you want to be happy. So get up and have fun with yourself.
You got friends
If you’re not a loner, then hanging out with buddies might be more appealing to you. With your friends you can hang out at a club or the movies. Go to a party somewhere or just hang out at your house. Go bowling, no feeling can compare when you suck at bowling and you get a strike! Go to a concert and jump into a crowd of Emo kids. Friends are always good company, they keep you laughing and smiling no matter what.
Don’t frown, smile!
So don’t hate this Valentine’s Day if you are spending it alone. There are so many people out there just like you and me. Just go out and do something for yourself. Make this day about you and for no one else. After all it’s just some holiday; and actually no different than any other day. So it shouldn’t bother you in the first place.
