It’s been about one or two weeks now, since you stepped in a classroom. There are many possible reasons for your absences. Whether it may be you were sick, out of town, or just plain lazy and you forgot to step into a classroom. Nonetheless, you still missed class and now you scrambling to catch up. So pick up your books and start cramming all the lessons you weren’t around for.
What you should do before anything else is check out if your teacher dropped you from the class. There would be no point in working hard to catch up if you’ve been dropped from the subjects you signed up for. Here’s what you could do:
Talk to your classmates…If you just happen to know anyone in your class, ask them what happened while you were gone. Ask them if you could copy their notes. They could help you study for a test. Classmates are usually helpful when you ask them nicely. Just remember to thank them for helping you if they do.
Put together a group study…Get some friends together to help you out. If you have friends in your class or just regular classmates invite them to get together and have a study session. Studying with a small group of people is helpful especially when if one of you doesn’t know the answer someone in the group usually does. Plus it’s a great way to make new friends.
Talk to your teacher…Oh yes, probably one of the best choices. No one can help you like your teacher. If your teacher is nice, then he/she will understand and hopefully hand over a huge chunk of extra credit work for you to do. Nothing saves a grade like extra credit! If worse comes to worse, apologize to your teacher and don’t miss the remaining class meetings.
Get a tutor…You need help desperately; you have no one to turn to. What do you do now? Everyone you know can’t help you. Find a tutor! Tutors will always be there to help you. When you are in dire need and you happen to be on the Skyline campus, the march right over to the learning center. There are students who could help you with your subjects for free! Yes for free! You’ll be able to catch up in no time.
With all the help around you, catching up won’t be as hard as you thought it would be. So what are you waiting for? Get out there and start studying!
