Men in blue

Every weekday afternoon at Skyline, a team of custodians in royal blue shirts and navy jackets converges on the school’s classrooms, hallways, bathrooms and offices. With one goal in mind, they mop, vacuum, sweep, lift, haul and straighten as much as possible from 4 p.m. to the end of the shift at midnight. But, as long as the floors are shiny and complaints are nowhere to be found, the custodians’ long hours pay off. Says Skyline’s facilities supervisor, Richard Inokuchi, “They really are unsung heroes.”
