The Skyline Badminton team had their first contest of the season against Mission College on March 16. In the opening singles round, Skyline’s number-two competitor Celine Sin played Mission’s number-one competitor Thu Do. Sin ended up losing in three sets 6-11, 11-0, 11-0. This happened to be the only loss of the night for the Trojans. The remaining five competitors for Skyline would not lose a match in the singles rounds or the doubles rounds. Sin would later redeem herself in the next singles round by defeating Mission’s Adrienne Zezzo in two rounds 11-1, 11-5. She also teamed up with fellow teammate Lisa Payte in two doubles’ rounds and won both by scores of 11-0, 11-9, and 11-5, 11-1. The final score of the match was Skyline 20, Mission 1. Head coach Jan Fosberg was more then pleased with the team’s effort.”Not bad for the first game, we seem to have good chemistry when we play with each other and were obviously good when were going one on one”, said coach Fosberg. Skyline is now 1-0 on the season and will play there first home game of the season March 25 against Fresno City College.
