ASSC has organized what they have dubbed the spring fling, a number of events to be held all week during elections. Skyline students will have the chance to participate in a number of sports activities when they go to submit their vote.
The activities for the spring fling will include: bouncy boxing, bungee run, ASSC vs. faculty football, football toss, speed pitch, soccer kick and a raffle on Friday.
The Associated Students will also be serving some free food for students.
The aspirants to the different positions gave speeches in Skyline’s cafeteria on April 24. They outlined what they intend to do for the campus if they get elected for office. According to Amory Buisch, Student Government advisor, the list of candidates is subject to change. She said that she would still need to ensure that the candidates meet the minimum Grade Point Average requirement.
In the past, candidates have posted flyers and handed out things like pins and candy during elections.
The aspirants will have the opportunity to publicize candidacies during spring fling and at school hours up to the last day of elections.
In order to get elected, candidates need to earn a minimum of 80 votes; therefore, their success will depend upon the student voter turnout.
