Social media is teeming with registration forms, and as long as you get your forms postmarked by October 22 as a California Resident, you will be set to vote.
Voting is an incredibly important part of our democracy, even if you don’t think your vote matters, it does. I always hear people say that the Democrats are no different than the Republicans, but they are different. Where there is no difference is that neither party particularly wants you to think otherwise. They want you to think that your vote doesn’t matter so you don’t vote them out of office and make them lose their job—a job that can be extremely lucrative because of the state of lobbying in this country.
It’s a cliché thing to say but people sign up to fight for our freedom every day, and not voting is disrespecting their sacrifice. Think of all the people who have died in the history of this country in the name of democracy and then think about how even one vote can change history. You owe it to the fallen soldiers of our country, in ages past, to vote.
It’s important for you to register to vote, do your research and vote for what you feel is right. Do fact checks on what the candidates and special interests are saying. Don’t take them at face value because, frankly, no one can be trusted completely. You can find registration forms on the websites of candidates in a lot of cases.
You can also pick up voter registration forms from your local library, county elections office, or post office. Literally there are forms everywhere, there’s no excuse not to register.
You can also grab the forms from official California government sites such as https://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/register-to-vote/.
It is absolutely imperative that you send in your voter registration forms in time. You wouldn’t want to miss out on what is bound to be a historic election just because you procrastinated and didn’t get your forms in on time.
