Senior Maintenance Engineer, Robert Spacher (center), ushered students back into building 6 after a short evacuation on Feb. 4, 2015.

An evacuation took place on Skyline campus in building 6 on Feb. 4.

Just after 2 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, students in the cafeteria had to halt their lunches and move out of the building.

“It was just a piece of toast that was burned that set off the alarm,” said Robert Spacher, Senior Maintenance Engineer.

About ten minutes after the alarm went off, students were able to pick up where they left off.

“I was starting my homework,” Early Childhood Development major, Julz Payumo said.

Her friend Kat Ricafort added, “We weren’t scared, we were just wondering what it was.”
