So the end of the year is upon us once again. It’s time to say goodbye to text books, classrooms and school life for a bit. This begs to ask the question, what is one to do over the winter break? Work more hours? Drink mass quantities of booze? Forget all that you learned over the semester?
I say you do a combination of these things, all except for the latter of course, because forgetting what you learn kind of defeats the purpose of learning it, doesn’t it? But that aside, the point I am trying to make is no matter how much partying you do, or how much working you do, make sure you take time to relax.
In this fast paced world, it seems people always forget to take time to chill out. Our society is wondering why more and more people are suffering from stress related illnesses and/or cracking under the pressures of everyday life, when it’s simply because hardly anyone takes time to stop and smell the roses anymore. They go to work, go to school, eat, rinse and repeat.
Life is moving so fast now. I am no longer sure if people are realizing how much they are missing out on, I am not even sure why people feel that they can’t slow down anymore. Not to get all soap opera on you but these are the days of our lives and we only have one life to live. We aren’t always going to be so lucky to have a month or more off once we are out of school; unless by the grace of god you get lucky and land a job where you do have a month off.
So don’t waste away your vacation passed out under a bar stool or slaving away behind some retail counter. Get out there and do something new, something crazy, something outside you comfort zone. Because what is a life with out some crazy stories to share with future generations? Stories that will inspire other generations to get out into the world and live a real life.
I know over the semester I have said some crazy things in my humble little grouping of words, and more then likely I have given some wacky advice as well, but as I say good bye to you and sign off for the final time, remember to take the time out to relax and live life to it’s fullest.
In closing, all I have to say is peace out my friends!
