The Skyline volleyball team has been inconsistent in the last four contests, dropping threeof them.”We’ve been up and down; we lost a couple of matches that we should have won but hopefully in the second half of the season, we can get revenge on some of the teams that beat us earlier,” Head Coach Jan Fosberg said.On Nov. 5, The Trojans lost their match to Ohlone College three games to two. Skyline got off to a hot start in this match winning the first two rounds 30-23 and 33-31. They lost the momentum in the third round losing 23-30 and dropping the next two rounds 23-30 and 13-15. The team won their match against Cabrillo College on Oct. 31, three games to one. Cabrillo won the first game of the match 30-27 but the Trojans answer back and win the next three rounds by scores of 30-12, 30-22, and 30-13.”We played them very close the first round and we knew if we just turned up the tempo a little bit the next couple of rounds we could beat this team,” Sophomore Traci Laeha said. Laeha led the team with 17 kills match, she also had a good defensive performance racking up 25 digs. The most impressive statistic of the match would belong to Freshman Nani Villareal who played a gutsy defensive game, getting 39 digs.On Wednesday, Oct. 29, the team played a less than impressive match, losing to West Valley the first three games, 12-30,12-30,16-30.
