    Skyline View student survival tip

Springtime is here, love is in the air, and more people want to explore romance. The semester is nearly over which will give us time on our hands to get out and meet people. The problem is most of us have been in dating hibernation, and might be a little out of touch when it comes to the dating scene. The easy part is getting out there and exploring–whether it’s at a club, bar, or maybe the beach, you have a pretty good idea where to find the kind of date you’re interested in.
OK, so you’re lucky enough to have locked eyes with that special someone and you’re ready to go in for the kill. You ask your new honney-bunny and they accept. So, once you’ve made the date, you might need some help getting through it, as it’s been a while (don’t worry, we won’t tell anyone):
1.When choosing what to wear, think about where you’re going. Be sure not to over dress or under dress. You don’t want your date to think you don’t care enough to look nice, but you also don’t want your date to think you took hours getting ready.
         2. Guys, when you get to the car, girls like it when you open the door for them.     Girls, if the guy’s door is still locked, lean over and unlock it. If a guy took the time to open your door, return the favor.
3.Now we’re at dinner; ladies, don’t be afraid to eat. Feel free to order more than a salad. Guys, watch your manners, and be sure to wipe your mouth–that’s what your napkin is for. Oh, and don’t forget to NOT talk with your mouth full!
4.Throughout the date be sure to give each other ample time to talk. Be sure to ask your date questions about themselves. This is your chance to really size the other person up and decide if this is someone you would like to know better. If you have decided you are interested, eye contact is key.
         5. It’s now the end of the evening. If you have decided that you want a good night kiss, be sure to have a mint handy to cover up that dinner breath. (If you decided that it’s not worth pursuing, bad breath just may come in handy!) Guys, this is where opening your date’s door will come in handy, get the eye contact going and if it’s right you have the perfect opportunity to get a pre-goodnight kiss. If all went well you might get another when you get to her house.
One more small reminder: don’t be too arrogant, or too submissive–go for a combination. A little of both seems to work the best, as your date won’t walk away thinking you’re a jerk, or that you are begging to be walked all over. Good luck!
