On Feb. 26, the BART Board of Directors initially approved an Alternate Service Plan that closes up to 15 stations if a Nov. 2026 ballot measure fails and additional funding is not secured. This follows the annual BART board workshop on Feb. 12, which first proposed the idea. In this video TSV’s Multimedia Editor Aileen Bucog interviewed Embarcadero BART Place Manager Perceid Cabelleda and Xpress Magazine Managing Editor Hannah-Clark Nixon about the closures.
This video won second place for the On-the-Spot video contest at ACP’s 2026 College Media Conference in San Francisco.
