Skyline women back in the playoffs

The women’s basketball team has made it to the playoffs this season, with their first game scheduled for tonight.

There are approximately 40 teams in Northern California who compete to make it to the regional playoffs, and ultimately to the finals. However, only 18 teams end up in the playoffs. We are the lowest seated team. Though the team managed to make playoffs last year, they were eliminated in the first round.

“It [the season] was nip and tuck,” Joe Morello, dean of kinesiology, athletics, and dance said. “Super excited for them… thrilled for the students.”

If the team wins tonight’s game, they will advance to play against the second best team in the state on Saturday, Feb. 27.

“My expectations are they’re going to play the best that they can,” said Morello. “We’ll see where it goes.”
