The series “56 Days” is completely different from what would be expected. It’s the kind of show that keeps you watching until the end, slowly revealing what happened and who was responsible for the mysteries and clues in each episode.
While episodes are long, they are interesting enough to keep the audience engaged.
The series is about a corpse that was found in the bathtub of the luxury apartment of a couple named Ciara Wyse (Dove Cameron) and Oliver Kennedy (Avan Jogia), revealing secrets over the 56 days prior to the murder.
It’s a murder mystery that keeps you invested since the body was unidentified, and stays that way until the last episodes. The large amount of unknown information about the murder creates suspense as it leaves clues for the audience to try to piece together.
If you are someone who does not like psychological thrillers, you still might enjoy this show because of the anticipation and suspense. The leading actors and actresses, Jogia and Cameron, do a great job portraying their characters’ emotions through facial expressions and demeanor. The two make you want to keep watching the series.
One cool feature that some of the episodes showed was a reverse timeline of what happened before that led to the event. They played the events backward, then switched back to the present, which added excitement to the series.
The show doesn’t go without including some light-hearted moments to add to the exciting overall mystery. One example is when they were at a Saint Patrick’s Day parade, and the tone shifted. The two are happy at the parade and dance around. They went to the parade because they wanted to spend time together and enjoy a little break for the holiday. With the tone being mostly serious, this kind of playfulness added depth by taking away the gravity for just a moment.
This series is worth watching because of the actors, actresses, storyline, and consistent suspense between episodes. It is a must-watch on Prime Video.
