Thumbs Down: Daylight Savings
Daylight savings time (when we lose an hour). Seriously? I woke up Sunday morning with this strange feeling that I had been robbed during the night. Then it hit me. I did have something stolen, something vital that I can never have too much of. That something is sleep and time.

Thumbs Up:Clothes
Without them we’d be naked.

Thumbs Down:Muscle Soreness
I am taking a weight training class this semester. This is the first time I have done anything of the sort in a year, and I am feeling it, let me tell you. I feel fine for the entire day, but when I wake up the next morning, my body aches all over. It isn’t a sharp pain, but just a constant, low threshold pain. It lasts for several days, too. On the plus side, I feel stronger.

Thumbs Up:Gay Marrige
Time to get political. I can understand to a certain degree based on rationality why one would oppose same sex marriage from a religious perspective. However, from the point of view of “justice as fairness” and what it means to be just, depriving a minority group of a civil right – which is now being argued an “inalienable right” – based on a majority vote of a narrow margin does not signify justice as fairness. After all, the idea of institutionalized justice is to be unbiased (John Rawls). If it were up to white males to vote on an amendment to end slavery once and for all over a hundred years ago, the majority would have undoubtedly voted to keep slavery institutionalized.
