With Thanksgiving now behind us and now with “Black Friday”, arguably the busiest shopping day in our nation, many begin to kick off their holiday shopping season.
For some, the holidays are a time where getting together with loved ones and embracing the camaraderie becomes common practice. But for those who spend more of their holidays working, in oppose to shopping to their hearts content, times like these are filled with sleepless nights and stress-filled days. At a time where our patience is truly tested, the holiday rush can in fact be overwhelming.
As students working throughout the season this can especially be difficult. To be Eager to make as much money as possible, to maintain everyday costs, and to still have a happy holiday is tiring. Coupling this with the pressures of exams, tests, quizzes, and study sessions all topping off with the ending the semester, it’s easy to make mistakes trying to stretch yourself so thin. Anyone able to survive this month and the next is truly a solider.
Though arguments on stresses of working through the season clearly seems one sided, surprisingly not everyone at Skyline feels the same.
While one student at Skyline says that he doesn’t mind the extra stress, he says it’s justified given the increase in holiday pay.
“Working is only half the struggle,” Kenneth Griffin said. “The other half is finding out what to do with all the extra cash!”
“It’s not a major issue because working is optional but I know how tough it can be from personal experience,” fellow Skyline student Frank Delevi said.
Whether your anticipation for what’s to come in the following months is positive or negative, the facts still remain that the excitement and frustration plaguing most will surely not result in a dull moment
