If you own a DS, then you know that sometimes those games are just too expensive for what seems like an awful game. I mean, come on, forty dollars for Heroes of Mana? That’s just downright rape of the wallet. But I bring you today a game that is not only tons of fun, but extremely easy on the wallet at only $20. That game is Picross DS.If you haven’t heard of the game, then I don’t blame you, since it goes by other names, like Nonogram, or Paint-by-Numbers. The concept, however, is simple. You work on a grid (5×5, 10×10, or higher) with numbers along each row. The task is to fill out the correct spaces along each row in order to find the picture. For example, on a 5×5 grid, if there’s a 5 along a row, then you would fill in all of the squares in the row. If there’s a 4, then you would need to fill in 4 squares together in the row. If my explanation is confusing, don’t worry. The game also comes with a handy tutorial, which explains what I tried to, but more professionally. There are several puzzles in the game, and even more to unlock, and if somehow all of those puzzles don’t do it for you, then you can go online and download even more puzzles to solve. You can even create your own puzzles, and send them to your friends, even if they don’t have their own copy of the game. Now that’s service. Speaking of friends, the game has a fun multi-player option which lets one person host games while the others play along. All of this replay value, in a $20 game? Why haven’t people picked this up yet?So if you’re looking for a fun way to kill some time at the airport, or if Pokemon isn’t doing it for you, then pick up Picross DS. You can’t pick your relatives, but you can pick your nose, and this game.
