Before Coach Rayannah Salahuddin second season with the volleyball program starts, she talks about her new strategies, new players, and the threatening competition.
With the her second season coming up Coach Salahuddin is looking to get more depth in the team with 17 core people already on the team, and she hopes to have as many as 25 players by the time the season starts.
“Increase the players and increase the height,” Salahuddin said.
With new recruits such as Kelly Young from Capuchino High School, Skyline sophomore Mina Chong, Nikita Lefiti and Jackie Laquindananun from Jefferson High School, this team should be competitive.
The Skyline volleyball team is turning into a year-round program, as the lady Trojans will also be traveling to Seattle against Tacoma College and Peirce College. In the summer the team will be traveling to Arcadia, CA for training camp.
“Develop the program into a D2-12 (Division 2) and get 85 % of my sophomore to be moving on to universities or state,” said Salahuddin.
Salahuddin said their main competition next year are Foothill and De Anza, but she had the last words by saying that, “We beat Foothill last year!”
