Skyline’s men’s soccer team played an aggressive game on Friday, Sept. 1, against Contra Costa, which resulted in a sweeping 5-0 victory. The Trojans took an early lead when forward Wallid Saad scored the first goal in the first ten minutes of the game. The Trojan offense was in high energy, keeping the game primarily near Contra Costa’s goal, and scored three more times in the last 20 minutes of the half. They played a great defensive game as well, keeping most of the pressure off of goalkeeper Joel Castro. By the end of the half, the Trojans were leading 4-0. In the second half, Contra Costa made a wise decision by switching their goalkeeper. This helped keep up some of the pressure on the Trojans, but in the end, the Trojans prevailed with another goal, and a well played victory.
