The blanket of fog this area is known for has yet to engulf the campus this semester, so overlooking the new logo for Skyline College is impossible. The new logo is one of the many facelifts initiated by the Fresh Look Project. The Fresh Look Project is an on-going process that began in spring 2005. Its purpose is to evaluate and modify Skyline’s various forms of communication and perception with the campus as well as the rest of the community. F.L.P.’s current focus is the logo and rolling out everything affected by the change. Mission Minded, which is a non-profit marketing company based in San Francisco, helped create the new logo. Culminating the design was a year-long process, according to Sandra Irber, director of college development for Skyline. The design is a collaborative effort between Mission Minded and the members of the Fresh Look Project. Mission Minded originally came up with four designs that were then voted on in May of this year by the Fresh Look Advisory Group, which is made up of members of all constituents on campus. A total of 628 people voted on the logo, according to Shelly Hausman, public information officer for Skyline College.”I like the fact it’s reminiscent of the previous logo and it carries forward in a dynamic way,” said Irber.
