The Skyline women’s soccer team is already thinking playoffs.
“We’re basically looking at playoffs,” said midfielder Betsy Cordova. “And we’ve never been in that position before.”
Cordova, also team captain, will be looking to give the team leadership and other intangibles.
“She gained a lot of experience,” said Kevin Corsiglia, women’s soccer head coach. “She’s probably one of our strongest players on our team.”
The team finished last season with a record of 5-12-3 overall, 1-5-2 in division competition. They ended the season 4th in the Coast (North Division) Conference.
“Every year our program has gotten stronger,” Corsiglia said. “We’re definitely shooting for the playoffs.”
The team lost a lot of players from last season’s squad. But what the team lost in quantity, they gained in quality.
“Talent wise, we’ll be stronger.” Corsiglia said. “We definitely have an up-grade in talent despite losing a lot of players.”
