The trial of the two men involved in the apparent road rage murder of a Skyline College student has begun.
Tito Sedeno, 21, John Navarro Jr., 20, and Richard Sedillo, 21, have been arrested in connection to the shooting of an Acura Integra with two passengers on I-380 in San Bruno, on Jan. 12. Skyline student Raymond Gardner, a passenger of the car was shot in the head and later died of his injuries. All three suspects were arrested at about 6:30 a.m. that morning on 28th and Dolores streets, after a high-speed chase that went from I-101 south across the San Mateo Bridge towards Oakland ending in San Francisco.
Sedillo was later released because he was not charged in the case.
Sedeno was assigned a public defendant on Feb. 14; Navarro was not in court that day because he had been involved in a fight with another inmate.
Their last hearing was on March 4. The suspects did not enter a plead and they are scheduled to reappear in court on April 2 at 1:30 pm to submit their plead.
Both defendants are in custody in Redwood City and they are in lieu of $3 million bail each.Both Sedeno and Navarro face a maximum of 75 years to life in prison if convicted.
