It’s not worth it. Do not give Zimmerman anymore attention

George Zimmerman is rumored to be a participant in some sort of boxing match. Zimmerman is the man who was acquitted of charges pertaining to second-degree murder and manslaughter after killing 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, a young African American boy who was walking to his father’s house one night in Florida.

Zimmerman was rumored to be set-up in a celebrity boxing match with none other than two-time welter weight champion… no, wait, I got my facts wrong. This just says DMX. Like the rapper? Yes. DMX the rapper. DMX had reportedly been recruited for the match.

To our good fortune the match that was labeled a “celebrity boxing match” has been cancelled. Reasons being the promoter received threats to his family, and apparently he did not know the full story behind George Zimmerman’s trials.

When good news sprouts, bad news is never far behind. According to TMZ, another sponsor has taken over the fight. This fight has no sign of DMX, and according to the new sponsor it will be a “bloodier, ‘Fight Club’-esque” event.

Regardless of the fact that this fight is being picked up and dropped as fast as the latest installments in the “Twilight” series, the big question is why anyone is paying any heed to this man who was almost convicted of manslaughter. He may have been acquitted, but the fact still stands that he killed a young unarmed boy.

What bugs me the most about this piece of trash is, if he had not killed that young man, he would not be getting a lick of attention. He would be some average nobody, living a boring life. Yet we give this man attention for some odd reason.

This boxing match is a terrible idea. It’s understandable to want to see Zimmerman get the stuffing beat out of him. The problem with that is he probably wants the attention, and the money. He won’t mind taking a few hits if it means a nice fat paycheck comes in the mail later.

I am outraged by this man’s ill-gotten fame. Giving Zimmerman any attention should be a crime in itself. He is an egomaniac who should be shipped off to an uninhabited island somewhere far away, and forgotten about. Since the trials ended, he has had no good news strung about him.

In addition to allegedly threatening his girlfriend, earlier this year he painted a picture that showed little respect for the American judicial system. That painting was apparently painted using a photo which he did not have permission to use. This guy cannot stay out of trouble.

To anyone that finds a petition to stop this match, I urge you to sign it as soon as possible. Seeing this piece of garbage get any more attention is sickening. I almost feel bad writing this piece, knowing that if he saw it he would get some kind of gratification. Do not let this go on any longer and if the match does happen do not watch it. Have some decency. This man does not deserve to be anywhere outside of an isolated prison cell.
