Should we be paying the price? the shutdown affects us, the american people

This government shut down has continued to take away from the American people in what seems to be an act of punishment.

With the recent close of The Cliff House in San Francisco on Oct. 1, which is a privately owned business that occupies Federal property, people are wondering where the old “Barack Obama drinking a beer” persona went? Obviously not to the Cliff House.

Brides have had to cancel their weddings while park rangers aren’t paid and Federal programs designed to help the poor and disabled will come to a halt.

Veterans can’t gain access to memorials or veterans benefits even though they laid their lives down to serve this country. Why are disability and veteran’s burial expenses not considered essential? What’s next? Will the International economy crash?

While the controversial law concerning Obamacare has passed through the necessary channels needed, he is still not cooperating with the congress that is trying to cooperate, and fighting it out at this time is not worth all the consequences that ordinary American folks are having to go through as a result of this shutdown.

This isn’t the first Democratic presidential administration where we’ve seen a government shutdown, but it seems that we’ve reached a new low with this one.

Our government was founded on the idea that there would be a balance of powers, not a dictating of one particular branch.

Both sides aren’t budging, at least not yet, but for congress to compromise to an un-American program such as Obamacare isn’t something I’d agree with.

Contrary to what’s been said by Obama, I don’t believe the programs set by Obamacare are necessary immediately, if at all, and can be out of the picture for now while a budget it in the works.

There are already sufficient resources available to the public so that no one who cannot afford insurance would go untreated if they are in genuine need of help, such as for our county Health Plan of San Mateo or MCE. It isn’t fair to hold the whole of America hostage in favor of these unnecessary health care revisions.

There is a reason why some people aren’t in favor for your health care package President Obama; they don’t want to be bullied.

Not by insurance companies, like we’ve seen in the past when car insurance became mandatory, and not by a president who has taken on the attitude of a dictator.

Not to say it isn’t wise for people to have health insurance, but to punish all Americans for not agreeing to a program that not all individuals will qualify for doesn’t make much sense nor does it seem fair.

Health care as it stands now is hard to afford which in most cases is why individuals opt out from purchasing a plan.

What people are afraid of is that if this program goes through, soon it will become just as costly to not receive care and the cost to choose your own insurance will go through the roof.

We are being bullied into choosing Obama’s way, and with hopes that all the shutdown tactics being used will have that done sooner.

Meanwhile, the stock market is down and people are suffering.
