The wrestling team wrapped up their season on Dec. 12 after placing eighth in the state at the California Community College State Championships. While all four wrestlers that qualified did a great job, it was not quite the ending they had hoped for since they had been ranked as high as fourth during the season.
The baseball team has a new field, a new season, and a new opportunity to defend last year's conference championship. Coming off of last season with the title for the first time since 1979, the Trojans are ready to do it again. "We're going to win it all again," Coach Dino Nomicos said optimistically.
After a hard 54-79 loss to City College of San Francisco Jan. 22, Skyline's basketball team found themselves in a tie for second place in the North Coast Conference with a conference record of 2-2 and an overall record of 7-13, with six games left to play.
Skyline has a new baseball field that is not only a beautiful addition to the campus, or just for the baseball players. It will help the entire the school. The field took from August to the first week of Jan. to complete and already it is being called one of the best fields around.
Marques Benjamin is the point gaurd for Skyline's basketball team. He is a first time Skyline student and this is his first year as a Trojan, but he's been playing basketball his whole life. Benjamin is leading the conference in assists and is a strong team leader.
