Students gathered to remember Angelo "Marcel" Johnson and call for an end to violence on Nov. 22. The rally organized by the Black Student Union (BSU) included musical performances and speeches given by Johnson's family and members of the BSU. The speakers shared the common message of asking people to open their eyes and not be afraid to speak up when they see violence happening in their community.

The American Federation of Teachers requested paid office hours for part-time teachers at a recent San Mateo County Community College District Board of Trustees meeting. The proposal requests part-time faculty members to be paid one office hour per week for every three units of instruction.

It's more than the title of the Nov. 30 movie presentation-it's the entire concept and attitude lying behind HIV/AIDS Awareness Week at Skyline College. The Associated Students of Skyline College (ASSC) and the Health Center have joined forces to raise awareness on campus about HIV and AIDS.

Employees battle fire in Pacific Heights building

Questions smolder over faulty fire alarms

After fire alarms failed to activate, two employees battled a fire that sprung mysteriously from a basket full of laundry in the Pacific Heights building over Veterans Day. At approximately 9 a.m. on Nov. 12, Head Baseball Coach Dino Nomicos noticed smoke coming from under the locked door of the wrestling coach's office.
