Skyline College students were invited to witness a presentation by the National Conference for Community and Justice (NCCJ), on Oct. 7, which included a performance and discussion session by members of the NCCJ. The theme for this presentation, entitled "Wheels," was xenophobia (fear of new things) and immigration, one of three such presentations with similar themes.
For the past three months, since Dr. Frances White has left the position of Skyline College President, the chancellor, among many others in the San Mateo County Community College District (SMCCD), have been searching for a replacement to fill the seat of college president.
With less than a week left to register to vote, the push is on to get voter registration forms in the hands of new voters. Most people, who register to vote, do vote, according to the United States Census Bureau. In the 2000 presidential elections, 86 percent of the people who registered voted.
More heavy equipment traffic will enter the campus from Sharp Park Road as construction on buildings 6 and 7A, the Student Support and Community Services Center and Science Annex, begins to gear up. Students approaching the campus from Sharp Park Road are directed to turn right toward the lookout point.
