Coming off a successful season, the Skyline women's soccer team looks forward to duplicate their success and go beyond. Talent-wise, the Trojans have 11 or 12 solid players with experience and don't have many weaknesses position-by-position. The team is talented but young, but once they get accustomed to the style of play and their teammates, they will do fine.
Despite opening their season with a difficult loss to Ohlone College on Sept. 3, the Skyline women's soccer team bounced back to beat College of the Redwoods on Sept. 7 and Foothill College on Sept. 9. In the first match against Ohlone, the Lady Trojans fought hard, but they were shut out 2-0.
The Skyline men's soccer team got their season off to a winning start with a record of 3-1-1 through five games. On the weekend of Aug. 28-29, the Trojans won the four-game 49er Invitational Tournament hosted by Yuba City College. After losing to the host by a score 0-1 in the first game, Skyline went on a roll and defeated Lassen College 6-2, Yuba City College 4-2, and then clinched the tournament title with a 3-1 win over Taft College.
