Foggy festival is fun-filled fiesta

A celebration of sun, sand, and surf, the Fog Fest defines life on the coast.
The festivities kick off Sept. 25 at 10 a.m. with the annual hometown parade which includes floats, music, costumes, cars, community organizations, public officials, and much more. Created in 1986 to promote Pacifica and to celebrate the marvelous coastal climate, the Fog Fest succeeds with a mixture of arts, tasty food, live entertainment, and fun to be enjoyed by all ages.
Jeff Cambra of Festival Productions, who has worked on the cherished Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival and the enticing 2000 X-Games, is the man responsible for bringing Bay Area artisans to the small city of Pacifica. Jewelry, floral arrangements, pottery, fashions, paintings, photography, leather, wood, metal, one-of-kind sculptures and much more will be displayed and up for grabs at this year's Fog Fest.
While shopping, one can enjoy three stages of music from a wide range of genres, and many people just can't help themselves but to dance in the street.
Hungry? The Fog Fest features an abundance of tasty foods from garlic fries and juicy ribs, to fried calamari. And one can't forget the many drinks available, such as the Fog Cutter, a specialty drink created for the Fog Fest.
The 19th annual Fog Fest will be located on Palmetto Avenue in Pacifica between Shell and Montecito Streets, with easy access from Highway 1. A two day event, expecting over 60,000 people, the Fog Fest will range from Saturday and Sunday.
This must-see annual event is a great place to hang out, start your Christmas shopping, and enjoy a celebration of life on the coast.
